That's the problem that I noticed with these programs. It's hard to see the details....which is where a lot of the real cost in a job can be. I looked at a few of my existing accounts and couldn't even tell if the wheel stops were painted, also arrows were hard to see. I did notice, that it is a little easier to see the details on blacktop lots. Still a very cool trick though!

Actually. that's the "nature" of these programs. Sure, you can't see the details, but you can see the big picture; lines, arrows, double yellow, long stretches of fire lane curb. I usually look at the site on-line first and count what I can see, then go to the site and count the details, but I'm only there for a fraction of the time it used to take.
Here's a news story that gives some insight into Google Earth and the photo detail: http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=1565
I tried goggle earth and I could not get a picture to show the lines at all, the other site my Norton anti virus would not let me open saying it contained a virus. Am I doing something wrong with goggle that I zoomed in as far as possible, and it did not show the lot only the streets?
Hey FineLine, I tried to see where you are located in your profile but youre being mysterious I guess. Some parts of the country are not covered very well by the satellite feeds that GOOGLE EARTH uses. I have gotten much better detail at the Microsoft site at local.live.com anyhow. But...not all areas are in the data bases of the sites so you may not be. Why dont people fill out their profiles???
both are neat programs but could be a lot cooler if you could point and click on a property and get the name and address. try your local county auditor site, mine gives me those options i can sit at home and cruise all around the county, find a nice lot then get the owners name and address and send them a letter. just started this, i've sent out 34 letters so far and have gotten 3 requests for bids.
