Ive been patiently waiting over six months for my money. 4 garages averaging 3000 stalls each so it is significant for a small-timer like me. I've been waiting for a "punchlist". That punchlist FINALLY came last week. Quality of work is very good. The contract calls for "match existing" in several places but one excerpt says striping is to be 5 inches. They are holding me to that. The old striping was 4 inches. I made the new striping larger. Around 4 1/2.
a lien on their property and a letter from your attorney could help insure your interests. the absolute best they would get from me is a 10% reduction in pay due to the 1/2 inch difference. after that I would tell as many contractors you can about your experience with this company.
A little something we were made aware of the other day by the company (Zlien) that handles our lien filings. They sent us a ruling of a court case in Utah that they believe will be the new precedence. If you are doing work as a subcontractor you must make the property owner aware that you will be doing the subcontractor work prior to starting or your lien will be void. I would guess this would also apply to property management companies.
You completed approximately 1200 thousand stall lines and other work at 4 building garages without anyone in a management position checking the work and giving feedback? Then, after you had completed all work they hold payment because of stall line widths? I just can't see this as a serious position from from someone that gets paid to manage work contracts? Will they admit that they didn't properly manage your work progress?
