They need that exercise anyways lol,

Smalltown... your employees are there to do what makes it easiest for YOU to get the job done. Not what makes it easier for them but you. No more. No less. If it is easier for me to buy them a driver then I will but if it's easier for ME to have them open paint cans or hold a wire brush then that is what is easier for me. THAT is the bottom line. There are many stand alone stripers out there who are more efficient working alone and there are others who are more efficient working with others. Just do what works best for you. I am a one man show still but I rather work smart (something I learned a long time ago from a group of guys that taught me some easier ways of doing things) than bend over all day spraying stencils when I can buy a $25.00 extension so I don't have to bend over to spray, I am already bending over to lay/ position the stencil and to pick up/ move the stencil. So if I can eliminate one step of bending over that should save my back and also some time. So in the long run a $25.00 extension will save me money and money is why we are doing this in the first place.

Talking yourself out of a job. My employee right now... wow. She is in "you should buy this and this and it will help me do this or that easier" mode to the point to where I no longer need her. The last couple weeks... I've been mentally saying... good golly, just do your job or I will find someone who will.

I agree some people will talk themselves right out of a job, I have people always asking for me to hire them so I ask them a couple of questions to see how interested they are: 1. Will you work nights ? 2. Will you work weekends ? 3. Will you work Holidays ? 4. Will you work on a holiday weekend at night ? 5. Will you be available in a 2 hour call window ? 6. Will you do what you are told without arguing with me ? The answer is always no because they don't understand the striping business plus they have a personal life and want to spend it with family but they will beg me to hire them anyway but only the hours they want to work, unfortunately that is during the day when I almost never stripe.

You can eliminate bending altogether if you put a handle on the stencil.

I had some pick of that but can't find them. All that's needed is some electrical conduit and a few bolts and nuts.

Why would ne one dazzle/aerosol almost 80% of lines beforehand? too much wasted time. Piece of chalk then chalk line

we all do things differently Gazza. I use this method for road markings and once in a while on parking lots.
