Iagree with STRIPES....I have a 8.5x16 Hullmark trailer, and just sold the p/u for a extended van. Plan to carry move stencils, lay-out equipment, ect. that was eating up room in the trailer. Also, If I had it to do over again, I would go 8 FT wide and longer. Mike In-Line

One thing I said before, most trailer MFG's will offer an extra height on their trailers, and that is well worth it. I have a friend that has a standard height trailer and you always end up hitting your head.. I think when we bought our trailer, the extra height was only a little more in price too..
True about the problems of a large trailer on a small lot. I have that problem already with the long flatbed truck and 18ft trailer. The inconvenience is worth it!!!! Still would like to have a larger one (trailer). We do so much driving, I'm a firm believer in "carrying the shop" with me. Just one return (trip a month) to get something out of the garage would make a payment on a new trailer.
I have to admit, even if I lived in the states I would have the same set up as i do now! When we did have the big trailer, I tried to back it down my drive way! By the time I had managed to do it I could smell the brakes and the clutch burning!!!! Very embarrassing I was hopless! I jumped out of that truck quicker than one of chips moments of passion!
In addition to the flatbed and trailer, we also have a cube van. I haven't figured out how to unload equipment from the cube expediently. Each machine (striper and LL) have to be removed independently from the cube. Lazyliners facilitate driving out of the trailer and allows for immediate striping. Takes much less time and effort in comparison.
How many of you guys live in a deed restricted community where they dont allow trailers in the driveway? I live in such a sh*thole and I am stuck getting a 5X8 or maybe 6x10 max to be able to fit in the garage and still b able to close the door.. I am just gettin my feet wet in the striping biz. I picked up a LL III 3900 and am in the process of gettin a pickup truck and of course the most exciting part...... the legal name, occupational lic and insurance .. BTW does anyone on here have any sample estimate forms or contracts they use available for me to look at and possibly use as a template for myself? Rich
LOL I feel your pain. I am designing a 2 car garage with a "shed" roofed third bay to stash my trailers in when I'm too lazy to go back to the shop. You could always look into renting a storage bin to keep it in. But that would prolly be another $120+ to add to your fledgling budget...and trying to find one you could actually back a trailer into might be impossible. If your email is available in your profile, I will try to send you something on templates when I get back in the office next week.
i just obtained a 6x12 enclosed and before i was using a 5 x10 utility trailer, i luv the 6x12, and it will meet my needs, "but" by the time i put in the striper, some cones, couple hand carts (for parking blocks) and paint etc...she filled up very fast and i can for sure see the logic of bigger trailers that most say here that you need or be glad u did, for sure bigger is better....cause it was somewhat of a rude awakning on how quick they fill up....
Just bought a new 7 x 16 CM. Man! Do I love it! .... So much so I'm replacing the old 8 x 16 CM with another 7 x 16. There is so much difference in the weight and handling. The llittle 4 cylinder diesel UD acts more like a 6. The Dodge doesn't even act like it is back there. Am getting about 50 extra miles to the tank on the UD. The question now, is where to park all of them. Guess its time to rent a yard. Can't wait to get matching logos on everything.
