Thanks Randy. You've pretty much taken the time and effort to "write out" the generic "system". Being you covered the basics all I have to add is..... You can take the same hole punch used for making the hole for the suction and pierce the lid near the edge of the bucket (without removing the lid from the bucket). You only need to make an incision of an inch or two wide then lean the hole punch over toward the outside of the bucket. You'll wind up with the prettiest pour spout you could wish for. No need to keep partials laying around because you can immediately pour the remainder into another bucket. No more worries about spilling. A complete paint reload can be accomplished in under a minute. I don't miss those sharp tabs.

Wow.. all great ideas. I like the idea of a cup of thinner on top if it really does minimize buildup on the tubes and bucket, but I have to use acetone. You've never seen anything evaporate so fast. Even the little room around he tubes might be enough for it to be gone the next day, but I'll try it. Ken, I'm still not getting how you pour the paint if you don't remove the lid unless the hole is kinda big, but we'll talk via e-mail or phone. People are probably tired of hearing me say whaa?? I also like the idea of the 6 gal bucket so you can pour a whole 5 in every time, plus it seams easier to remove the lid and no tabs. But whats this about static buildup because its plastic? Something to worry about?

I am not sure if there is a static buildup but there is a ground wire and a grounding chain on the machine for some reason. Just to be sure there is no buildup I run the ground wire to the medal part of the pickup tube and wire tied it to the hose to keep it out of the way.
