Before PLSIC, there was no published technical standard for parking lot striping work. No objective definition of acceptable line width tolerances. No specification for ADA stall dimensions beyond the federal minimums. No benchmark for materials, retroreflectivity, or application method.
PLSIC-100 addresses that gap: the first published technical standard for commercial parking lot striping. Developed through an open, practitioner-led process — drafted by working contractors, reviewed by peers, and published after a formal public comment period. Standards are available to members at no additional cost and may be referenced in project specifications, contract language, and insurance documentation.
Standards built by practitioners are more useful than standards built by committees. If you are an experienced contractor, manufacturer, supplier, or technical professional in the striping or pavement maintenance industry, your input belongs in this process.
Participation is available through committee membership, public comment periods, and peer review. Founding members receive priority access to working group positions.
