Going to buy new machine very soon. Probably gonna get a Line Lazer IV 3900 over another Powerliner 4900 because of the new design, but was wondering if anybody had a 200HS and if they liked it. It's seems to be a good combo of Titan reliability and Graco ergonomics, but at a price. Dave
200HS Anybody have one?

think Jpanz has 2 of the 200 HS. I just purchased a 4900 and am not totally satisfied with it: 1. Very bouncy 2. Handle bars "rock" alittle cause they are adjustable 3. Had to adjust the front wheel cause it was drifting to the left 4. When I tried to hook up the Lazyliner, I realized they changed the layout for wrapping the hose. I had to bend the bar out the hook up the driver. Now to hook or unhook I have to jack the machine to a 90*. Just my 2 cents.... Mike In-Line
Thanks for the input.. In-Line.. I agree, we also have a newish 4900 and have the exact same issues . I have an old powerliner 4000 and it has been my favorite for 10 years. Too bad Titan/speeflo isn't making friendly machines anymore. I think I'm gonna get the linelazer IV 4900. The one I saw seemed to be better balanced than the old ones. I do a lot of yellow curb painting and with the old 4000 I can easily ride a wheelie and paint curb with changing heights. To hard with the old gracos but I think this one might do it. The 200HS is out of the question for that reason. Reading some old posts, people said they are a little front heavy.
Just wondering, why are the new Titan PowrLiners more "unfriendly"? They don't have all the electronics & goodies that the Graco do but are still essentially the same as when they were Speeflo with a few improvements here and there (don't buy the useless gun carriage option)
IN-LINEPM Instead of wrapping your hose in a coil on the hose brackets wind them in a horizontal "figure 8" configuration. Not only will that clear your hitch better, it will then be easier to remove the hose because you won't have any of those pesky kinks caused wrapping the hose all in the same direction.

Don, the only thing left on the powerliners that is Speedflo is the pump. Titan has the worst chassis and refuses to change it. If you tried to work with Titan Engineers, you would find it was easier to work with a bunch of two year olds. Jim
In-Line, You can cut the center bar of the lower hose bracket out, leaving only the bracket corners which will give you all the clearance you need for the hitch and it still functions perfectly for wrapping the hose. This is what I did and it works great. I was advised to bend the bar as well but when I did the weld cracked so I don't recommend that as a fix, not to mention that it is still almost impossible to attach and detach the hitch with the bar bent. Stripes, They changed the position of the brackets.... the old way they ran up and down, with the handlebar. On the 4900 they run across the top and bottom, left to right. Moreless they flipped them 180*. And the bar is in the way not the hoses..... Always open for new ideas.. Mike

Well I can't see any difference in the chassis and haven't used a new one so I don't know about what in particular might be wrong with it. I know several people that have newer ones and all seem to like them fine as far as the chassis. But you are SO right. I have tried talking to them. I gave them a tip or two after seeing that useless gun carriage mess on a couple of changes that would really make their machines better for the striper "in the field" and thus boost sales and they treated me like I was crazy & they knew everything there was to know. I started to get an attitude and ask them if they had ever actually painted a stripe but instead just told them the facts. "Graco is leaving you guys in the dust. You have one of the best pumps in the world but if you don't start listening to the people who use them everyday you'll keep falling farther behind. The biggest difference in you guys & Graco is they listen to their customers, they may not do everything suggested, but they listen and at least consider it. That's why they keep outselling you 10 to 1". All the guy did was start informing me emphatically how their sales were better than ever and the gun carriage was something most contractors loved etc. etc. (I don't know who they've been talking to, maybe laughing Graco reps disguised as stripers ) Anyway I gave up. That is their biggest flaw. They know it all and won't listen to the people who actually hold the handlebars.
Here's their mindset.... They haven't yet realized most striping companies now use dedicated color machines. Speeflo folks have an old school picture when striping was commonly a one man, one truck, one paint machine operation. Today all of that added hardware would mean tons of work in installing and removing them on each jobsite on each machine.... or leaving them permanently attached. If those monstocities were all the machines we carry, we'd have to get a 36ft trailer.
Don, I call them unfriendly for the exact reasons In-line stated, plus some others. Don't get me wrong, I love speeflo pumps. And when I boought it, I liked the setup better. As I said before I have been pumping paint through my old powerliner 4000 for ten years with no problems, and NO repacking!. I know I wont get that from the Graco. I couldn't care less about the electronic gadgets, I probably wont even use them. Just looking at and feeling the linelazer 4900 in the store made me want it. I almost got a woody. It feels like a user-friendly machine, and very nicely balanced. So I'll just maintain the 4900 like I'm supposed to, and see how it goes. Maybe the next time I buy a new machine Titan will have its head out of the sand, and looking at what we want in a striping machine.
