Has anyone bought the new graco 25th anniversary machines? I just bought two and besides the cool look, the outlet tube is a direct 90 degree angle and the lid is a complete seal. My complanit is that tube, anyone know the purpose of its new design?

I have one and have to agree that the complete around the pick up and prime lines is a real pain in the (expletive). I am considering cutting a slot all the way out to the edge of the lid so i can take it off without pulling the tubes, or use them separately when cleaning out and flushing the lines. I have found it very hard to swap buckets or clean out without dripping paint. I do like not having to worry about paint or gas sloshing out of the lid though, so i'm undecided still...

Yeah I agree, even worse I had a bead job and along with the paint hopper, I had a bead hopper on top of that. The lid design makes it really hard to refill paint. When I cleaned the machine I was so used to the old design that by habit, I did it the old way and shot paint across the parking lot. I'm pretty bummed out by it, inconvenient

We purchased a new 3900 this spring. It came with the new prime tube and lid. I thought the lid would be nice, until I had to fill with paint. So I switched to an old one we had. Also the prime tube, we had the same problem you guys have had. Take a copper pipe cutter and cut it off just above the 90. That way all the paint goes down and not out. This solved that problem.

I do have a picture I want to put up soon, awesome look though other than the couple issues. Messing around at the walmart with it, I figured out a good system for cleaning with that style outlet tube. Just drop the throttle. And I think I like the lid, I was able to travel with a five gallon bucket as oppose to a hopper and trash bag so thats a good thing.

I bought the 5900 AL & swapped out the lid with a spare that I had. AS for the bent tube I make sure there is enough paint in the pail to keep it covered when recirculating when the lid is off, as to avoid getting splashed with paint again.
