Just to clarify things... Over asphalt emulsion Sealcoat, what type of paint can you use? Over coal tar Sealcoat, what type of paint can you use?

on asphalt emulsion I use latex or oil. coal tar is latex only, or at the very least a latex "primer" coat first.

I often use acetone yellow over coal tar, but not white.

We have used yellow and blue acetone oil for years on fresh sealcoating and never have had any complaints

So you can use oil for everything except white on coal tar? How about new asphalt?

I would stick to latex for coal tar even if you paint yellow. New asphalt I use either. We use chlorinated rubber for almost everything but coal tar
