I have seen it done with a machine that looked like a cross between a hot mix laydown machine and a slip form concrete curber. I don't have any idea where to find info on it. The curbs are several years old now and look pretty bad. They are broken in places and look like they didn't get proper compaction when installed. I have also seen small sections built with a rake when paving, but they didn't look very good either.
Little info on the curbing, if you dont lay the curb, when you lay the parking lot, all at one time. the snowplow man will love you come winter..it will never stay, you have to dig where you want the curb down into the lot so its secure when you add the new asphalt where you made the dig-out, the easiest way to put it, you have to have a anchor for it, if you dont anchor it in the parking lot even a car bumping it will knock it over.or a motorcycle hitting it and knocking it over..its real ugly come spring when your picking up curb every where, after the snow plow took it all out..remember anchor is the answer here..dig into the parking lot to get some of the new curb into the parking lot ..key word ANCHOR IT.. far as the machine. never seen one at a rental place.might have to buy one, check e-bay.. good luck , have plenty of help. you have to shovel hot patch into machine, curbing takes time dont rush.. ANCHOR ANCHOR ANCHOR LOT OF YOUR CURBS ARE PUT IN WITH A PAVER, on the side of the paver,(wing) has a curber on it , as your paving the lot your laying the curb..
