on my new auto layout Ive calibrated it @ 25' and 100' and both times the stall measuring works out fine so does everything I checked except job total its off 3.5 to 4' per hundred thats about 4% , Im on this large job and after a while its considerably off. does anyone know a quick fix , or do I need to call a rep.

Mike, Are you stenciling or shooting a wider line or maybe cross walks / stop bars and not changing the line width in the computer? that will through it off.

How are you calculating it is off? Are you doing it mathematically or with a measuring wheel. If you are doing math it doesn't account for starts and stops that could vary 1/2" or so. If you are using a measuring wheel how do you know it is not off a bit? Also things like radius will put measurements off a bit. Keep in mind the A/L is measuring off the rear tire so if you run on the inside of the line on a radius one time then the outside of the line the next time your readings will be different. So if you measure with the machine then measure on the line with a wheel you will get different measurements. One more possibility is if your machine is off by 1-2% on the high side and your measure wheel is off by 1-2% on the low side your total difference could be off by 2-4%? It basically boils down to your method of checking the accuracy.

Mike it could be in the magnetic switch on the trigger not releasing when you release the trigger. it may need a minor adjustment. To check to see if this is the problem remove the spray gun and run around like you are spraying pulling the trigger on and off and watching the accumulative feet. if it still measures with the trigger off there is your problem.

I have adjusted the trigger so they are in time, I am measuring from a tape at 100 ft , aftyer calabrating , I pull the trigger and travel 100, the same marks I calibrated it with , then the job total reads 96.7, but if I use parking mode it will layout 11 stalls in exactly 99 ft,but then if I go back to main screen job total will not read 99 ft , it will say less.

Check your tire pressure should be 60psi in rear tires. Also make sure you use a metal tape when doing your calibration

I dont use it much, the jobs I have been doing require better accuracy, the auto layout does have its uses, just not on lots that have row after row that have to line up.
