Ok, I was totaly off. I have heard of people here tinting their paint, but your saying that you mix your own paint (blue)? How many gallons of blue paint can you get with the tinting process? And what do you mix it with?

We started mixing our own blue, but sometimes the tint price will exceed $60 a jug. When that happens we go back to buying pails of HC blue. Funny thing is, the price of tint changes often all summer long..

I am experiencing SW alkyd paint that has been tinted to ADA blue adhering to the surfaces (especially new concrete). The white alkyd sticks just fine but the blue that comes from the same batch often peels up. Has anyone else been experiencing this problem? My plan is to change to solvent base acrylic for all colors. The blue will have to be made in the store just like the alkyd. Does anybody have any experience with acrylic tinted blue for ADA? One last question. Does the acrylic red hold up to ultraviolet any better than the alkyd? I have zero experience with acrylic but am jumping in with both feet and changing all machines over to acrylic. Any input would be appreciated.

From my experience with ProMar TM5713 & TM5712 is that the white stays white better than Chlorinated rubber and you hardly ever have to cone anything off due to the quick dry time. I think it's best used as an early spring or late fall paint something that can extend your season. The issues I have had are it dries so quick glass beads will not adhere and it dries so quick the paint will not properly adhere to concrete and will blister and eventually flake when it's warm surface temps above 85*. I have had it tinted blue before but it's impossible to roll on it dries to quick on the roller. I guess the best and worst thing about it is how fast it dries. Never sprayed red I always use ProPark for red.
