I was wondering if some of the improvements, specifically the improved gunholder and light, would be available for retrofitting to older Graco's...ala Fat Trak retro. I shall now rub the bottle of Throat Seal Liquid and see if... .........The Graco Genie will appear

That light is great. But I bet it's pretty expensive. It's way overbuilt, like most everything Graco. it's machined out of billet aluminum, LED instead of inkydesent, and mounts anywhere on the machine. One problem, it's powered by a plug into the computer box, and the older machines don't have that. I have a couple of these, they work great and the 3 AAA batteries last 12 hours or so: http://host205.ipowerweb.com/~goldenga/product_info.php?c…
I find it hard to get used to LED lighting, I still like the head wear lighting. You get light where you look that way. With LED lighting there are less shadows though, or rings and holes as they are technically known. The key to no rings and holes (shadows) is the reflector. A smooth reflector behind the bulb will cast the bulb shadow. A dimpled reflector cuts down shadows to nearly nothing. So no matter what lighting you chose, there's a little techy info for you.
I Don't think the light is compatible with older models. One reason is that we added some additional circuitry on LL4 for the light that prevents it ever taking too much power and thus starving the clutch. It assures that the clutch always has sufficient power to operate properly.

Well I have a 2 "D" cell flashlight with 9 LEDs and have left it on just to see how long the batteries would last. it was on for 42 days. I dont think I could get 42 hours out of a regurler light. both with alkaline batteries. Now it does not through the same light. more like a flood light not a spot light but it works very well for close up work like under the hood of a car.
Now it is about 15 1/2 hours of daylight. sunrise should be 5:18 and set 18:45 and we gain 5 minunites a day, but today no sun, just rain snow mix. the longest daylight is about June 22 which sun shines between 2:51 to 21:07, but is just below the horizon at night so it is light all day . and just the opposite in December.
TheStripeZone, what would you like to know. BTW, the new literature is out and goes into detail of most of the significant changes. Not all the changes made it in the literature. One is in response to a jpanz request for a no tools adjustment that did not droop. It is now a solid one piece design.
I did an airpost job where the lines had to be 6 inches. After running over a strobe light the width of the line dropped to 5 3/4". After we repainted the entire taxi way again. We welded everyone that I have. I did not make sense to have that weak point in the mount. Jim
