Has anyone ever painted a metal water tank? I need to quote a guy on painting some water tanks , but I have never painted one before. The job seems like an opportunity to do something new. I am going to use my Airless to paint the bulk of it and then use a brush or roll where I need to. But if anyone has ever done this please let me know what primers and paint you have used that have given you good results. Thank You Much, Ron Lemos Laredo Striping

I am guessing you are talking exterior? If interior I would say stay away, you do not have the experience needed. On exteriors the prep. will decide on the quality of the job. Do you need a lift?sand blast ?mill scale? Where did this guy come up with your name ? How many vessals need to be painted? What I am getting at is this job could require more than you may have thought about. If you are going to go any farther, a paint rep would be able to help you choose a Polyurathane or Epoxy coating.
