Saturday the temp here was close to 90. ... not out of the ordinary for Tx. But, we had record cold temps the last 2 days. Yahoo weather this AM predicted for today a low of 22 and a high of 45. Right next to the forecast, our current temp was listed as 7 degrees. Makes me go,.... huh? Now that the sun has come up temps are rocketing upward. We're up to a blistering 10 degrees. Pavement was so cold yesterday we couldn't even clear the ice with a torch. It'd melt and the water would refreeze after moving only a couple of feet. Sure wish I had one of those torch/blower thingy-ma-gigs. Oh well, lesson learned. I'll have one before next winter.

I am going to have to say I don't feel the least bit sorry for you Ken. I would love to see a nice warm 45 degree day around here once. It has been struggling to hit 20 during the day and lows in the single digits every night. It's time to get out the ice fishing gear any day now. We are also going to have what looks like quite a bit of snow starting tonight. I am certainly living in the wrong state. I HATE winter!!!!!

OK then, MOVE! Should anyone (tin foil hat group) entertain the concept of moving here, let me know. We have the demand, but not the workforce. Productivity (and quality) is our forte but human resources is our weakness. If I had any assistance in getting and maintaining help, we (and the other entity) could/would be able to retire in only a few years. I've had an open invitation to RandyV forever to move here and set up a joint venture. He blames "momma" for not moving but I really think he doesn't want to give up his hunting when his striping is shut down from snow.

You all have it so rough.. I have changed over to my winter work of snowplowing and sanding. Damm if the tempature hasn't been between 35 and 50 every day for the last week. I wish it would snow. Alaskans for global Warming.

Ken, I don't think anyone could survive a Texas summer, it's just to bloody hot. Texas for global cooling.

Now Straightline you should know my self-invented adage: "You can tell right away a person's not a native Texan if they are complaining about the heat in May, no matter how hot it is". NO native Texan complains about heat in May even if it's in the 100's... we're too busy thinking "oh he** is it ever going to be hot in August if it's this hot already!" The dead giveaway for the "northerners" is when somebody is complaining about 95 after April or before October...if it's May or June that's nothing...if it's August & sometimes September (like this year) we're thankful for the cold front

95? I don't think it has ever been 95 here. we did have 10 days in the low 80's though this year. Man was that ever hot. we all striped down to our long handles and went swimming next to the glacier. Trying to climb up that slipery ice to dive off is not as easy as you would think. by the way it is 49 now.

above we are having a heat wave. Trust me I would't think of swimming below "0" I have seen 49 below and it is not fun.

That's what I mean, Don. Those northern folks would never make it through spring.

I was born on Sunset strip out in Evergreen. back in 47. sure miss the place. Brother lives on 1st ave E. N. and sister on 1st ave E. Reason I left was because there was no jobs or money back in 76. Best thing I ever did for the family was move here but still miss it there.
