Poor man's version of GPS tracking - get on of these: http://www.delorme.com/bluelogger/default.asp It's small enough to go in an old glove and toss on the dashboard. Then it will track for 10 hours. You download into your computer and it shows the route on a map, when, and how fast the vehicle was traveling. I have one that I use with my Palm TX and it works great.
Found Nextel has GPS Solutions. Tracks Employees and all that but the kicker is the phone doubles as an moblie employee time clock that shows the location the employee clocked in and tracks their hours for you. Then on Payday all you have to do is pull a report on which employee you need to pay. Cost $36.00 per month with Walkie Talkie & telenav.. When Season ends, $6.00 month for stand by up to six months at a time. Tracks, Gives directions to jobsite, Automaticly clocks them in when they reach jobsite and clocks them out when they leave, notifies you if they speed, records every minute of day with 30day recall, Checks diesel prices in area for cheapest diesel or gas. Anyway list goes on. I figure on the overtime alone I will be saving more than we spend and no more phony time cards either.
