My 5900 burnt out a mother board last fall. I had it replaced over the winter. The new board has 4 hours on it and it started smoking and smelled like it was burning. Any ideas? This is those only one of my machines that has auto layout so I really need it fixed fast. Thanks

Check the wiring, could have a short somewhere.

I figured it out I looked on the board and found an area that was burnt. Calledgraco and they said it was something in my clutch burning it out. Now lets just hope they warranty my 800 dollar board that has 3 hours on it.

Who charged you 800 for the board. I paid around 350 last year because I thought mine was going bad but it wasn't. That sounds really expensive. Jim

Dimond Vogel I guess they charged a ton for labor and did a bad job. Live and learn. It may have been 700 but I know it was at least that

Really easy to put in, takes about 15 minutes.

Do you really need the motherboard? Maybe the newer ones are different?

It's the brains of the system. These machines don't use a check ball and spring for pressure controll.

We use the auto layout almost everyday to we really need the motherboard

Guess I'm old school.....I put pressure gauges on my machines. As far as lay-outs, most of the contractors I deal with hand me a print, then I toss it in the truck and grab my tape and chalk.
