I ordered a new LineLazer this year and I noticed Graco has changed the lid to one that sits tighter with the tubes in the lid so when filling you cant take the lid off without pulling the tubes out of the paint. I have already thought about cutting out a notch to match the old lids before I have even tried it out yet, am I mistaken that it might be a pain to deal with?

nice in one way that it seals around the bucket more, but a pain for cleaning out or trying to load paint.

Buy a 15 gallon hopper. Then you put the tubes in through the hopper and don't have to worry about the lid.

Stephan is right I took my old style hoppers and also put a hole in them so the hose could fit in the hopper without having to go through the lid. It works a lot better when filling up the hoppers. I can see why the new hoppers have the holes.

If you check the parts list of the new LL4, they came out with a new rubber plug for the hoppers. it seals the hole much better. you think you pay a couple hundred dollars for a new hopper, they would inlude the new plug. I had a brand new machine last year covered in paint because the hole in the new hopper trying to get the old rubber seal to work.

For the time being I swapped lids, but I do like the idea of cutting a hole in my hoppers & putting the hoses in through with the rubber plug from my new lid.
