Hey all, Been absent for a little while as far as posting goes but have been checking in to read every now and then! I have a question regarding gun actuators, in my searching I've come across some old threads from when the auto-layout was first in conception, and as far as I can tell they were in existence but are kinda a mythical creature now. The reason I ask is that we just won a contract to paint 34k meters or so of bike lane... and the township wants them to be dashed lines. All of them. 34k meters of dashes done by hand seems like a quick way to get carpal tunnel! Cheers, LineWorks

We just finished one bike path, it only 6 miles long, they wanted skips 3 ft stripe 9 ft gap, we used the auto lay out to market, piece of cake, definitely worth it,

The auto layout works great, but if you are looking to actuate the gun using it that is a bit more difficult. if the gaps are the same as the stripe, like 2 ft long 2 ft apart. then you may be able to use the auto layout to trigger a dual acting air solenoid, and use an air actuated gun trigger, or air operated gun like the paint trucks have. I have used those in the past with an air tank mounted to the front of machine or set one on top of the bead dispenser - of course you would need to have an air operated bead gun as well to be fully automated. Back in the day I had a counter that worked off a wheel driving a pulley that would turn once every 40 ft. it had a cam that triggered an air valve arm. you could adjust the cam width to get the desired skip, and would do a great 10 ft skip every 40 ft. with some work that may be a way to do what you need using that type of method. what is the cycle you need on the dashes?
