Help Wanted

In Charlotte everyone seemed to have the same problem with help. I can't understand why young American guys/girls are so lazy. All I ask is that they show up at 7:15 every morning ready to work. I offer 1/2 health benefits, yearly bonus, simple IRA (we match 3% of their salary), and overtime. If anyone knows anyone in NW Jersey who WANTS TO WORK..........please email me.

Their work ethic is great and they show up everyday. However, the myth that they are cheap labor is a myth. A good dependable guy who's bilingual and comes to work everyday will expect to walk home with a nice paycheck every week. I NEVER have a problem finding help.

THe problem there is they want to get paid Cash. It's hard to do that most times. Also they must have ss numbers.

I sympathize with you Dan. We have Zero Tollerance for the cash game. I had one Mexican try to scam me in 2004 with that (expletive). He told me he just moved up from FL and his wife had his DL, SS Card and Alien Registration card and would be here the following week. We needed help bad, so I had him sign all the paperwork but just didnt make copies of his credentials because he didnt have them, and told him he couldnt drive until we ran his DL, he agreed and went to work. I told him he needed to produce them the follwoing Friday before his check would be cut. This piece of human garbage sat there and lied right to my face for 3 days straight. Then he started picking on one of my "favorites", so short of grabbing him by the neck and choking the living crap out of him, I had a little sit down with him for a corrective action meeting. On the fourth day he doesnt show up to work (Typical)(Trust me no one was crying over his absence ), he comes the following Friday to pick-up his check with another Mexican (I guess they thought they were going to intimidate me, I could have knocked them both down just by staring at them). Can you guess what this piece of shiot told me when he shows up??? "Me no want to work no more, your other guys no like me. Uhm, yes, uhm yes, I no have no drivers liscense or SS card like I tell you" "So you just pay me in CASH ok?" Think again retart. I could have easily cut him a check for casual labor for up to $500.00 off Quickbooks and sent his lieing carcus out the door, but I dont like being lied to. I told him I could easily detain him inside my office, (I outweigh him by 180 lbs), call the Hillsborough Police, have his friends car car towed and impounded (I would bet my Net Worth it wasnt insured), with this the two take off out the office like Batman and Robbin. As he is trying to leave the parking lot I have a delivery coming in and he gets stuck at the entrance. I casually walk up to the car, the two of them probably think I am getting ready to fire bomb it, and politely tell him if he wants his check he can go down to the Dept. Of Labor to retrieve it because I am going to be sending it there along with his home address cc: it to the Police Department. At one time in 2004, I was getting about 2 - 5 workers a month coming to our office park looking for a job, all ILLEGAL, talking about getting paid in cash, benefits, overtime. I actually had to put a 11" X 17" sign on my office door that said "If you arent in the United States LEGALLY, don't bother applying" I had to finally translate it into Spanish because these morons would still come into my office with the same old story. I pay enough in Taxes, I think that Illegal Aliens are parasites.

All the guys I've hired gave me SS#s, but I've had 2 of them over the years tell me that they gave me the wrong one and need to give me another one. If there is something wrong on my part let me know.

Koter thats great if you can get it. But in NW Jersey there are no local "day workers". Most everyone here owns their home and there are very few apartments that are rented. Believe me we could have enough work to run 4 crews if I could find people. If i want to drive to pick up workers I could do that, but i'm from the old school, that they find their own way to work, no cash, and must have the right paperwork. If I find good people I try to treat them right with $$, health benefits, IRA saving, etc. But its a uphill battle.
