I have been striping for over 20 years and own 10 Graco units, but I have never owned one with the hydraulic pump. Just out of curiosity, what is the application, just higher volume? We do some rather large parking lots and the 3900 and 5900 have never let me down. Are the hydraulic units just for continuous spraying, like airports or double yellow line?

I have a 200hs, and its been sitting for two years. This year I painted over 15000 double lines this summer with my 5900. Most lots were over 1500 double line spaces. the machine has 7000 gallons in 2.1/2 years and still going strong. I run double 325 or double 327 and it does a great job

I'm with Jim on this one. We own a plural component unit (hydraulic retrofitted with 2 pumps) and I can't see an advantage of hydraulic single pump units over the gear reduction drive. We own 16 Graco Line Lasers and have never had a problem with the drives - still have 3 old 3000's and an old 5000. They seem to last forever with normal maintenance. I wouldn't want to have the extra weight of a hydraulic system. My theory is that Graco wanted to offer something to the Titan / Speeflo hydraulic sprayer owners to bring them over to the Graco line. It's all marketing and marketshare and Graco in it's wisdom wanted more of it.

We have 5900's and 200's. All are used with pushers. I agree that both will get the job done. However, i enjoy using the 200's because the hydraulic pump is practically silent with its slow and steady up and down action as compared to the constant and continuous noise from the gear pump. I try to eliminate as many negatives on the job as I can to make it as "enjoyable" as possible and this is one of them.
