Hey Guys, I have been reading the forum here for a while but just registered. I was wondering if anyone here has experience with ICI traffic paint (latex). I've been using a Sherwin Williams fast-dry (like Hotline) but no one is stocking it locally (Central MS) and the ICI is about 30% cheaper.

Here in Ohio ICI carries Aexcel Paint which is made in Mentor, Ohio. It was my understanding that they supplied all ICI stores. They also re-brand for Brewer, Pathmark, Centerline,TAPCO and others. Their Jet-Dry Paint is a good fast dry latex. In fact it comes in a metal instead of an plastic pail due to the chemical makeup. My cost per gallon is about a dollar less than Sherwin Williams for the latex. The big price difference is in CR. Aexcel is $1.50 less per gallon for yellow and $2.40 for white. The White CR is with in pennies of the JET Dry Latex.
I use SW latex paint and have never had a problem with it going on 4 years now. I used ICI when I first started out because it was cheaper but I had alot of problems with tip clogs with it and seemed it didn't dry as well when the weather got colder. I am thinking about switching to oil-base just because you can leave it in your machine for longer periods of time than latex without causing problems and it is easier on your equipment.
