I'm sure I'm the only one who hasn't figured this out, but how do I give Karma Points? How do I get this Afganastan flag off my profile?

On the flag thing: Go to the member map, at the top it will say "place your pin" click that, and "adjust" your country to reflect whatever flag you wish....on the Karma thing, underneath my icon (the scary pic of me as a 3 year old) there are two links, one called "applaud" and the other "smite". Clicking on one or the other will allow you to say "I applaud thee for thy righteous stand, thy voluminous knowledge, and thy lovely figure when viewed in the moonlight" or "I smite thee, for thee art an idiot!"

We have has several people inquire about the changes to "Karma" You now must have 75 posts before you can "applaud" or "smite" someone. This cut out some riff-raff that seemed to be registering, making just enough "one liners" or other fairly meaningless posts to hit the Karma level then some people's Karma would start to jump up or usually down, so we figured it was a "personal" thing instead of it's intended use. Harder to come up with 75 posts if you don't really have something to add. Unfortunately the "raise" created some confusion among those who were "in between" the old & new limits and previously had Karma ability and then it went away. The idea is kind-of like BTS said. You can give somebody a Karma "pat on the back" even though you're not participating in the thread just because they gave a good answer they put some effort into. That's what it's for, a "pat on the cyberspace back" for those taking time to be really helpful or a "cyber-kick" for a "smart-a**" answer that wasn't called for.

Wow! I've got 16 ( now 17) posts. Guess It'll be a while before I can contribute. The best info and chat site around. Learned as much from here as Atlanta. Can't wait till the Charlotte show.

I agree. Its petty to worry about it, but it kinda ticks you off when you LOST 30 points in a week and you dont even posts any messages!

How about this............ When you loose a Karma point you should be able to click onto a link that exposes the person who took it away from you and their exact location at the time . The person who takes it away has to enter a reason why they thought they where worthy of such judgment. Then if you don't agree there is another link available labled...... " launch land based missile to the "Karma Killers" location". This would eliminate those who find it so easy to swing the big hammer. I am sure the Government has plenty of missiles available and ready to launch. All Robert and Don have to do is figure how to hack the system and get a link on PLP. It's that EASY!!!!

I have a cousin we affectionately call "Firebug" who could do the job far cheaper....less collateral damage...and like Keyser Sose, would leave nothing behind....

I lost 10 Karma points today alone. That's about 1 every hour. Someone is sitting with one thumb in their B**T and the other on the pulse of everyones Karma.

I have studied the situation, and statistics show that there is an inverse relationship between the number of times a person brags or complains about their karma, and the rise in their karma rating. Statistics don't lie, but statisticians do, sometimes.

Robert I have had 5 go in the last 24 hrs, Maybe I peed five people off who knows but.... I have never mentioned anything about Karmas, so I suspect that it's people not just one but a few, that may suspect some one smited them and so they smite that person. It's all very childish, to be honest and it's beginning to snowball. I am not going to participate in the karma thing any more , and for the peoples doing this if helps you in any shape or form to eliminate your suspects, I have never smited any one before. I suggest you grow up, and your not that difficult to track either, as the karma/smite pond is not very large since Don and Robert put the post level up and some of us on here have known each other for years so that makes the pond even smaller .......

even though the karma is petty in a way as mentioned, u cant help but to pay attention to it , and i think most guys/gals here are great guys and it pretty much boils down to helping/learning from each other here and i say 95% of the time that happens....i see some guys who have negative karma and i dont see where in general that there is someone here that deserves that....or someone liked ripped hog (who seems to be a asset to this forum i believe) loses alot of points quickly over what? just my 2 cents....

I never paid much attention to it in the beginning, but as mine started to grow, I began to watch it more and more, It was like a pat on the pack for a good post , now mine too has dropped 5 in the last day or so, it does make you wonder what ya said to get the ol' smite button pushed , I can't help but wonder if it was this post or that, which one ruffled the feathers, maybe my caution to the wind about Ennis Paints ? I dunno...I guess Karma is what it is, and I shouldn't worry about it..

What is interesting is that you can't Karma someone more than once in a 24 hour period. So at that rate there are 10 JERKS out there today that don't like what I have had to say because I lost 10 points today. Let's see....I posted the "land based missle response" on those who smite me and BTS followed it up with an equal responce....I droped from 14 to 4 in one day and he is still at 27. Sounds BIAS to me. I think the only other post was about the Graco 3000 compared to the new 3400.

If I had the time to do all the required post to get a karma I guess I would be in the office instead of working making all the green stuff to make a living. But what do I know I'm just blond!
