I don't have a clue as to how many are coming. Responses to RSVP indicates many "emergencies" (which is to be expected this time of year). Getting several more "ifs" and "really want to come" but can't confirm. As such, it appears we will be gathering down at a local watering hole known ans "Sneaky Pete's" on Lake Lewisville. That way we will have access to a bar, grill, boat ramp, eye candy, etc., etc., etc. Plus, it will definitely be a BIG party atmosphere. Downside is, they won't let me bring in any kegs. Not to worry, I'm still buying! We'lll be doing shuttle service from the airports for anyone flying in on Thursday or Friday. The party will get under way Saturday early in the AM no matter what or where it winds up being located.

Most recent developments!!!!!! No camping no more (on Saturday that is).... No RV available on Saturday because we just booked the south patio at Sneaky' Pete's on Lake Lewisville. They will be catering and providing the refreshments....They will be serving up South of the Border Fajitas and a Cajun buffett along with a keg and open bar. What a deal! We'll have an overlook of a sandy beach along with access, boat slips, open water, and a grand time all the way around. Its gonna be GREAT!!! Can't wait! We have bought a huge "big Mutha" air inflated sled that will effectively sling (oops) carry up to four people behind the boat. We may go ahead and extend the weekend till Sunday and move the party along with the RV to Lake Ray Roberts on Sunday... appx 25 miles.... depends on how many people are interested (or able) after Saturday's partying.
We stopped off at Sneaky Pete's last night on the way home from the airport. I'm delighted to tell all you folks who care about it that there is a lot of eye candy available there Lots of skinny little girls in bikini tops with belly-button jewelry! Don't y'all dare miss it! MB
See you all there. Wanted to remind some of the "newbies" (cause I've seen some "see you next year" posts) This is not an annual event, (but who knows). It started out as having a party for Wend who is over from Kiwi (our fist international striper visitor here in our "neck of the woods)...and grew (Texas style) to a hey let's invite everybody in the country, pick 'em up at the airport and rent a whole lakeside restuarant-bar patio etc. etc. deal thanks to Ken who everybody knows has no sense and a tendency to go overboard. (Let that be a subtle reminder for those who might get in or near a boat he is operating (or LazyLiner). Be there after while....
We are hooked up to the boat and about to pull out headed for the lake (about 10 minutes south of here on I 35). Don's right again... If you haven't experienced jumping wakes at 50-60 mph while holding on to a huge inner-tube, now's the time ....But, never hurt anybody (yet). I'm REALLY looking forward to this.
Never hurt ANYBODY? Ask to see the gash on Robert's leg. But he'll surely survive it! Man, we had a good time today! Live music, cool breezes, fajitas, boat play, funny people, etc. I will post some pictures soon, as soon as I get past all the Bloody Marys. Great way to get your veg in, that. Eh, Wend? Mary Beth
It was great. And MB - that's a scratch, not a gash. The only thing bothering me now is my shoulders. Ken and his 225 hp motor tried to pull them out of the sockets. It was great to finally meet Wendy and all the guys. Lots of good information and valuable tips were traded. Thanks to Ken, he sure knows how to throw a party. I wish I could have stayed longer, but had to get back.
MB & her bloody Mary excuse...I'm tired, it's late, but there is a new gallery with Jamboree pictures in the new PLP photo gallery at http://parkinglotplanet.com/photos/index.php Just a few for starters to whet your "wish I was there" syndrome...more to come as we have time...
Simply incredible..... Wendy and Micha didn't even hesitate about jumping on my ragged old LL's. They were both off like tornados striping to beat the wind. They had no reservations about "back wheel striping" and did admirably for the first time... I was expecting a mess but it never happened. It was a real treat to see a 99 pound waif (Wendy) muscling around the 500 plus pounds of striping machines. Wish I'd had my camera....wait till tomorrow!
