KIT? There's a KIT? If so, LET ME KNOW!!!! All of our LL's (5) have been retrofitted with elctric-start motors (had to replace the whole motor). Perhaps you can exchange the motor before you crank her up.. If there is a kit, I'll also retrofit every striping machine we own. IMHO even if the Honda motor cranks first pull, we generally start and stop each of the LL's 50-100 times a day because we have a hard and fast rule.....NO WALKING IF YOU CAN RIDE! This includes lay-out, moving materials, sweeping (w Billy Goat), answering the telephone, etc., etc.. Pulling on a rope 50-100 times a day is a lot of work!
What model of motor are you retrofitting with, is it a straight forward bolt in changeover? I would prefer the same motor as the Lazy Liner, and I would be happy to pay more if Graco offered electric start even as an option? I wonder if Cormac has any input to this question.
Sorry, the old style LL's are verticle shaft. The new hydraulic one is horzontal but it is off on a job right now. I don't think it is an option from Graco. Seems an optional upgrade would be in Gracos best interest. If they don't have the option, try calling Dave at Fineline [phone removed] toll free to see what motor he uses. On second thought (being its raining!!) I might call Dave myself to see if there is a retro-fit kit for the horizontal motors. I'm serious about putting electric start on all of the stripers. You could use the same battery as the Lazy Liner... just have a quick couple next to the hitch attachment.
