How can I determine which series I have? There are two... one that was made before 2007 and the other after. I don't know which one mine is. What is the difference between the two anyway? Also... looking for pullstart cord for the machine. Mine is messed up so I need the whole assembly... not just the cord. I went to the local Atlantic Tractor place and they couldn't tell me because according to them... there are "many" different 120GX Hondas out there.

The older units have a gmax pump on them the newer units have a gmaxII pump. The pumps are a little different. Not much, We get our honda parts from watercannon.com.

find a small engine repair shop for the starter housing. to my understanding there are only 2, one has metal parts and one has plastic parts.

Awesome to know, Jim. Thanks. Any chance someone would be willing to spoon-feed me a little more and help me figure out which one mine is? :/ I believe I am going to buy a new pump at the end of the season so this would be helpful. I've been having ongoing issues with it and would like to replace the whole assembly.

You should get 4 or 5 pull start assemblies, keep a couple in the truck then when a string breaks you can just swap it out and restring it later.

the part number on the frame should clarify the model, its helpful when ordering parts. all the machines ive seen have this number on a tag on the left side of the frame.

I put a re-stringing charge in every job. Lol Re-stringing later is non-billable.
