The first item was seen by me at a pavement convention and was a jet engine used or designed for the purpose of blowing and drying parking lots. The second item I'm looking for is a truck with a stripe removal system using 40000 psi water pressure If anyone has a clue where I can find a used item or an auction upcoming that has ethier of these items I would be quite gratefull. E-mail me directly Thanks in advance, Mark Taylor

This guy has one for rent, and I think would build you one too (jet dryer) http://www.madv8bike.com/id14.html

Thank you, but those guy's are located in Australia and that's a bit far away. The company I was looking for was located in the U.S. and the jet engine was slightly bigger than a shopping cart. I'm looking for this as I run a sweeping company here in Canada and even though my 5 large street sweepers work great a 16 hp billy goat will do the same job of cleaning a 10 ft swath as a sweeper. So with two blowers and a sweeper keeping the accumulation's down, we get across a parking lot in no time. This jet blower should cut down on one of those blowers and then some. P.S. our company nick name is desert storm for some reason.

I think the unit your were looking at is the Buffalo Turbine blower. Is it towed by a small vehicle or a tractor? Try this link http://www.buffaloturbine.com/ Jim

What a blow I saw a huge BillyGoat looking thing on a commercial riding mower not too long ago, it must have had a 22hp engine on it... Depending on your location and from what I have gathered from a few sweepers in the region, these blower, debris movers are becoming taboo. Sound and dust regulations.

Thanks Jim, You hit the nail on the head. That's exactly what I was looking for and YES I do understand that this item is a very selective location blower. As I say to my employee's "you don't have to run the equipment full out unless your working full out"

I unsuccessfully tried to find the CFM's for the Billy Goat models. Does anyone have the CFM for the Force unit? I'd be curious to compare CFM'S of the Force to the 9hp buffalo turnbine.

I was told by the rep in Vegas the actual CFM was very similar for the Force units compared to the old units (which you could probably find) the 18 isn't officially out yet and isn't on their site, with 2 more HP I imagine it's a bit higher than the 16. I got a flier on the prototype but it only has dimensions & 2 year warranty stuff etc. kind-of a pre-release thing. They said for all the models the main difference isn't in CFM it's in the "force" the air is delivered at (see their brick videos for comparisons, a 13 Force out-blows and 18 of some other brand and they have a couple of 9's) If you think about it a big blower like for a commercial air conditioning unit would produce huge CFM's but not much "force" so there is more to it than CFM for pavement use. My comparison would be (I get kidded because I sold vacuums in my teen-age years--but I learned a lot) that some vacuums demonstrate how much suction they have by picking up heavy objects (or they used to) but I could take a little hand-held dust buster and pick up a bowling ball with a few simple household items to make a "test adapter". Now would the little dust buster clean your floors? Not well or practically, but the lifting of heavy objects has to do with the use of the available suction not the amount of suction. In a similar fashion on the job site the force of the air actually delivered to the pavement is what really counts more than the volume as long as the volume is sufficient to get the work done. The "turbine" units may be very useful for some applications but the ones I have seen at the shows are BIG (pulled by another unit) and not very maneuverable compared to regular blowers so I'd consider what I had to do everyday & how that unit would do it 1st rather than going just by CFM. I know the turbines have a very big discharge opening in comparison so they may deliver more CFM but might have less "force". I also couldn't find any 9hp Buffalo units, it was either 6HP (rear-discharge for grass) PTO units, or the big 23 HP for pavement. If they have a 9 it's not on their site.

http://www.buffaloturbine.com/greens_fans.htm I was thinking about mounting one horizontally under the truck's flatbed.

If you are looking for a something for drying the pavement they make a thing for roofs that is basically a blower ... Like a Billygoat that has a propane torch that blows a flame into the air intake. I think it was call red dragon or something like that. Also you might want to consider where your going to be using a big blower type thing. I understand that some places are getting restrictive on their usage.
