I been asked by a soccer associations to stripe their fields. In order to provide an estimate I need to know how many linear feet of 4" lines can I expect per gallon and at what mills applied. I have read several differnet sources with different numbers. Anything from 1000 feet per gallon at 4 mils to 1000 feet per 5 gallons. SW SherStripe can be diluted up to a 4 to 1. I have been told that a common dilution rate is 1 to 1 or 2 to 1. My questions are: How many liner feet, at what dilution, can expect per gallon? At what mills applied? What tip is recommended? Do I go small like a 215?

use a 319 tip medium pressure should get you around 350 to 400 ft per gallon and some where around 7-8 mil you can always increase your pressure and stripe at a slower pace to get a thicker mil spec.

The dilution thing got started when low pressure sprayers were all they had. Wayne at Technical Coatings has done a lot of work on field marking, and says that the best way is to use an airless sprayer and not dilute. More of the paint sticks to the blades of grass instead of running down into the ground. Even though you don't dilute, you get brighter lines and better coverage with no more paint.
