The last time I stenciled my company name on my cones I used a generic black spray paint. Lasted for about a month before it started looking bad and wearing off. Have any of you tried stenciling on cones? if so, what paint works best?

We are about to order some cones from this company we found at the expo, they offer free laser engraving, its Blaze Cone co...We will see if that does the trick. When we stenciled, we just used Krylon. I just think too many people are members of the "No more homeless cone society" I guess its good to know our stolen cones will end up in a home rather than on the streets...LOL

Haven't heard about the homeless cone family in a few years. I had almost forgot about them!

I think there is even a website for the club too, maybe someone can remember the link..

Traffic Cone Preservation Society and screenprinting the cones with an ink that actually becomes part of the cone is the best solution.

I use a thick point sharpie, Like u guys said they are not around enough to get a fancy paint job on them. I loose around 50-60 a year. Maybe a lojack would work. Jon

Why not your phone # instead? That way any lost cone can be easily reported and retreived.>

I am going to put our number on them this time around, but I guess it could be bad to......Now the people will know who to call to complain about paint on their tires when they run through the cones.....

That's why I found using the 42" "grabber" cones was far more effective. They are taller than a car hood so people are more hesitant to drive over them, they are required here if doing road work, they are made to tie string or flagging tape to, you can attach the 6 ft. barricade panels to them in 2 seconds if you need a barricade, and they are too big to be easily "snatched" by the kids. They cost a little more but stack compactly & last forever and we went from losing cones at the rate of dozens a year to maybe 3-5 so it's a lot cheaper. PS: We kept some of the little 24" jobs just for an occasional wet handicap or something but to block traffic the difference is night & day.
