I had someone contact me yesterday that wants to have a Route 66 road shield painted on their driveway, I haven't seen the driveway yet or even met with them to talk over how big they want it so I was hoping someone on here has done something similar in the past. At first thought was to get a photo of what they are wanting and have it blown up to use to trace out the design on cardboard or on a piece plywood. I also did a quick google search and found this: https://www.google.com/search?q=route+66+shield&espv=… Any help would be appreciated

You could go to a vinyl cutting place that makes decals for cars and what not and have them cut it out and just take the parts you want to paint out. Then stick it on a piece of plywood and cut it out. We do it all the time.

So depending on the size they are wanting would you make the stencil in multiple sections ? Also how or what would you charge for something like this ?

you may be able to order that made out of thermo from flint/ennis, im sure it would be pricey but it would be nice.

I guess I would have to see what these people would want to pay for a basic one time a year or every other year stencil that will have to be stored either at their home or I store it.

ya depending on the size they want you may have to make it in sections. Also depending on the size of the guys cutter. It would not be a big deal. If the stencil is bigger than a piece of plywood just push two together and put the sticker on and cut it out. I would not be cheap by the time you figure paying someone to cut the vinyl and your time running around and cutting it out I would say a couple hundred at least just to make it

Simply, if you think it will take a day to do the job tell him it will be $1000 for installation plus cost of stencil or thermo. Cash only for installation.
