Wanted to know what I should do about this corner piece I have to layout next week. They want the area in front of the sewer hatched out, and theres no room for parking there anyways due to the shape of the lot. So I wanted to know if I should connect each 18' stall at point A to close of the corner box. It doesn't form a perfect square like in the pic, so where should I put my marks for the hatch lines to begin, 1ft-4ft? Where you you put yours at, and which way should they go? Thanks for the help, new layout so I don't wanna re-do it!!! Sean Paramount Asphalt **edit** pic shrunk on me, but point A is where the two 18' lines are supposed to meet

Cool drawing !!. I would connect it at point A, and crosshatch it as if were a regular square. We make our hatch lines 3' apart. If you think there might be a problem, show the proposed layout to the owner before you paint, for his approval.

yes I agree with Asphaltman, the trick with any layout is to make sure there is enough dept of maneuver, judging from your drawing (well done by the way!) you will be fine. As Ashaptman says c/h 3ft or 1 meter apart, convince the punter to have a KEEP CLEAR stenciled in as well just to get the point across bla bla blaar!!! more $$ for ya!

Thanks a lot! Just wanted to check with the pros before I did anything stupid I'm meeting with the guy Thurs, so this will be brought to his attention. Heh the drawing took me like 2 minutes to do in paint, believe me I'm not artist

Hey When I had to do a job like that. After I got done striping the hash marks they made go back and put hash marks in one of the stalls so people could back out and not hit another car, Like if you are looking at the drawing I had to stripe the stall the right of the hash marks. You might want to bring that to there attention. -Dean

It is my opinion that both stalls to either side of this cross hatched zone have infinite backing up space, straight back from both directions in the drive lane.

So what should I tell the PM? Hatch out the stall to the right due to backing up space?? Again, its not a perfect square on the job, so there might be some room to maneuver out of the spots. Sean Paramount Asphalt

It is very hard to give advice on layout, if we cannot see the entire job and variables onsite. If that corner is square and there is a straight shot backing up space from the right and left of the zone the way you have it drawn should work and is the way it is done on most of the lots with corner zones as drawn.
