I picked up my new FieldLazer today, its my second machine, plan on running both of them this week, the old machine will become my yellow paint machine and the new one will be my new main white paint machine. I feel a lot more professional now that I have two of them. I coated it in FluidFilm, a new product I've been using, Its a lubricant and corrosion preventer which is paint-friendly, It contains no solvents, so I'm hoping that it will keep the paint from sticking to the new machine... Time will tell. There are more pictures (and bigger) in the photo gallery, heres just a tease.

I use the Graco 3900 to stripe fields. Then I can stripe lots without the purchase of separate machines. The 3900 is heavy compared to the fieldlazer but the ability to stripe of the back wheel makes for a more consistent line. Two machines would make doing the duel purpose Football/Soccer fields mach more efficient. I have found that if I use a smaller tip such as a 215 or 315 and thin the paint maybe a 3 to 1 ratio of paint to water I can make money. A soccer field will use between 2 to 3 gallons of paint. A basic football field will use 5 to 7 gallons. 10 gallons if you painting hashes and numbers. I do allot of this work in the spring and fall - soccer and football. The soccer/ football associations that are not in a municipality's are your best bet to get work. I often sell them a striping maintenance plan. And they include this in the cost of their participation fee. Often you can schedule the organizations field work day to fit your schedule for initial layout and then you do not have to pay for a helper. Nice to see others doing this other market. I charge much less for fields than for parking lots per Linear foot but often do the work every week to 2 weeks. I figure materail , time and overhead then consider the repeat nature. Often there is multiple fields to stripe at one location. I have a schedule and work most afternoons doing fields, before practices or games. Then on weekends when the fields are in constant use I am able to do the parking lots. Works well for me as I do this part time.
i don't do any pavement so the FL's work out nice for me. They're only 80#'s plus paint so they're much easier to push over grass than the big pavement machines. (almost all are over 210 lbs I think). At the end of a day I'll have laid about 6 miles of paint, and pushing a 3900 would be out of the question. I work every week, the fields are well used and the lines take a beating. My town and the town south of me use a 3900 and the guy is beat after pushing a couple lax and soccer fields. I do 20+ fields a week. I am looking to get into municipalities for the field work as that would fill the schedule up earlier in the week; because right now all my lining is for clubs and they're weekend play.
