I had some convenience stores to get done over the weekend so I went to my trusty Sherwin Williams and picked up what I thought was 3 pails of Acrylic. After the second store I couldn't figure out why it was taking so long to dry. Usually 5 minutes is plenty for the acrylic. It was more like 20-30 for it to dry this time. I guess at the time I wrote it off to humidity or something. I usually leave one pail on the striper (3400) and just refill it as I go instead of replacing the whole pail. To make a long story short, it wasn't until today that I realized Sherwin Williams had given me a pail of CR when they loaded my paint. So I have 2 stores that were painted with a mixture of CR and acrylic (acetone). Can you guys offer any advice on what to expect and how to proceed? Will the mixed paint hold? Should I go back and re-paint them? Should I say something to the owner and see if they want them painted again or keep my pie hole shut and see what happens? I know it's ultimately my responsibility to ensure I'm using the right paint. I feel like an idiot for not checking. But.... I also feel like they should have ensured the loaded what I paid for. Advice?

I would keep my eye on them and mouth shut. If they start to fail then offer to warranty them. Going back and painting over them now would probably only make it worse. Doubtful you will find anyone who has experienced this to tell you what to expect. If the paints mixed together and didn't cause any problems in the machine the jobs may well be OK. Maybe you stumbled onto a better paint. Lol the last thing I would do is offer to repaint it now as they always think more is better and it only causes premature flaking.
So far so good! It looks about the same as CR but it seems to be staying down ok and not doing anything funky! My local Sherwin Williams replaced the paint (and then some) free of charge and made it right on their end. Thanks for all your input!
