How is everyone? I need some help on what kind of paint is being used and the name brand and maybe a price or two. I know we go over this once in awhile but any help would be appreciated. I was using SW for the past 15 years until the store manager let a guy that just started in the business seal and stripe his lot. He sealed it in 36 degree weather..on Monday morning 11 cars got sealer on there carpet. Then the professional painted it with heavy fog and paint ran all over place. I have got some great pictures of this mess as soon as I can figure out how to post them I will. I don't get it and never will. I've bought over $100,000 in paint from SW and that guy 20 or 30 gallons. We consider our work some of the best anywhere. We only apply sealer and paint by the book. Oh we are in NC near Charlotte. Anyway please help about the paint. I've been paying about $10.00 per gallon for oil. I have heard than Ennis makes a new polymer paint that is said to be best on market. Thanks ahead of time people for your help.

I only wish I could get oil for $10 a gallon! In Washington at Sherwin Williams we pay about $12 a gallon. We asked about the lower prices people listed here and they told us their prices vary by region and that they pay about $9.50 a gallon themselves. Truth? or a Lie? Who knows for sure but I sure would like to pay some of the prices I have seen listed here.

Isn't it amazing. You are in there day in and day out, and the S.O.B. gives it to an amateur. I have been using Ennis and really like it, in the CR. It holds longer that SW and it has a higher solid content (that is my experience with it). Price: I am paying a little more for CR than you are paying for the oil base paint. I am saving almost $ 6.00 per gallon over SW. Will I go back to SW? Yeah, only for stuff I can't get from Ennis.

If you've bought that much from him, he'll realize his goof up and probably give you some excuse trying to get you back in. Only real question is will you go. Everyone has the right to shop where they want......including you! I learned that in the grocery business. I like ICI made by aexcell. I am paying about $10 for yellow, but only little over $7 for white. I only use latex. don't even know the oil prices.

I'm tired and digusted with them. Trying to compare their statements to company records is nearly impossible. The local rep lured me back to SW with the assurance our local store would always have product and consistent pricing. Also, he guranteed our prices would be uniform regardless of the stores. Unless I take the time to audit every purchase, they are regularly inflated. They've left us in a bind three times in the last two months because of running out of paint. I understand Allstate has a good waterborne for ~$7.5 a gallon. Yes, as much as I dislike latex, I'm probably going to change. I'll keep a couple of machines charged with alkyd for humidity problems.

We have used everybody, and still use whoever we can get the best shipping rates and prices from at the time of order. But I will say last year we started to use ICI (aexcell) and LOVE it. We also switched from mostly CR to mostly waterbased, and it has worked just as well, except in the early spring or fall, then we use solvent again.

The ICI from the local Dulux store is too thin and fogs. The Aexcell we have tried from another supplier is thick as paste and requires too much time for adequate thinning. I wish we had other options. Ennis is buying up all the competition.

Hey Arrowline, prices vary by region in Wa. State only because they can. All S.W. stores pay the same price for goods. I can get S.W. C/R for $9.80/ gal, regular Pro Mar for under $11.00. Special Asphalt who is a distributor of sealcoat and asphalt repair materials sells Norline DOT spec paint for 10'ish if you buy it 24-5 gallon buckets at a time. Different S.W. reps from the same store or territory will quote different prices to different people depending on what they think they can get. Thats why I use Columbia, Sherwin Williams, and Norline. If I use a few reps, I can get service from multiple parties and they dont think they have me over a barrel. Accur8

I tried Ennis paint about 2 years ago.It was the worst paint I have ever tried. It didnt go spray well and had about a half gallon of dried up paint in each 5 gallon bucket when we first got it.ICI or SW are the two of the best.(imho.)
