Hey Gang I am fairly new at stripping and have a few questions....First of all what is the standard wide of a parking space...also what would be a good estimate for a new layoff job for for 70 parking spaces...just lines nothing else. Thanks

Linelaner, Parking widths are typically 8.5', 9.0' and 9.5'. Layout cost is typically atleast the price your are charging for paintiing.

Just a added note: 8 1/2 ft. is a minimum unless specifically marked for compact cars. Here in TX with all the pick-ups and SUVs 9' is tight and 8 1/2's are door dings for sure. We always recommend 10' for churches & funeral homes & the like where women are more likely to be wearing dresses and need to open the doors wider, the same for any facility more likely to be used by older folks or people with luxury cars with bigger doors. Don't forget the A.D.A. Is it's own animal.

I would get $200 here, but you should try to find out the prices for your area.

Thanks Guys The info you gave me was a great help....I think I am going with the 9 ft spaces because its a State Maintenance garage and all they work on are compact cars....I have another question...What distance is good for the vehicles going in and out of the garage bay doors.....The parking spaces are going to be layed off behind the garage doors and they need room to get in and out....Thanks for your help this is a wonderful site for info.
