This year, we have installed 438 of their 40 x 40 HC symbols (around 65 more to go), 75 Bike symbols, 75 2x3 sharks tooth, various ONLY and DOT arrow symbols, SCHOOL symbols and probably 700 lft of 4" line. It is impossible to put a "feet per minute" or "minutes per foot" figure on your production. It varies from person to person, and it varies from new to old asphalt. Ambient temperature and wind affect production rate as does weither you have to apply the sealer or not. Application is easy especially if you have worked with thermoplastic before. With the colored material (other than white), it is tricky to do it without scorching it a lot. It is even more difficult with 2 color stencils such as the thermo HC symboll we use which is white with a blue background. Flint trading has been great to work with and their material is very consistent. If you have any questions, e-mail me your contact info (it's in my profile) and I'll help get you going.
DID SOME RR X'ING FOR DOT WITH PREFORMED TOOK ABOUT 45 TO 1 HR EACH TO BURN IN INCL. SETUP. BE CAREFULL IF YOU PLACE OVER OLD THERMO. WE WERE TOLD TO PLACE OVER THE OLD, AND THE DOT GUY CHECKED TO SEE THAT IT WAS STUCK DOWN AND IT CAME UP IN A FEW SPOTS AND TOLD US WE WERE NOT HEATING IT ENOUGH AND TO REHEAT IT. WELL TO FIND OUT AFTER REHEATING IT STILL CAME UP SO I DID SOME CHECKING AND IT WAS THE OLD THAT WAS COMEING UP UNDER THE NEW AND BRINGING THE NEW UP WITH IT AND YOU CAN'T REHEAT THE OLD TO MAKE IT STICK BACK DOWN. YES THE FLINT 20/20 IS GOOD TO USE YOU DON'T HAVE TO PREHEAT JUST LAY DOWN AND HEAT TILL IT HAS BUBBLES AND A LITTLE RUNNY AND IT SHOULD BE GOOD. TO CHECK WE USE S SCREW DRIVER , JUST PUSH IN AND TRY TO LIFT, IF IT TEARS IT'S GOOD ,IF AN AIR BUBBLE COMES UP UNDER IT IS NT STUCK DOWN AND YOU HAVE TO PUT MORE HEAT TO IT. WEAR SOME GOOD BOOTS NOT TENNIS SHOES. THEY WILL BURN
