I've got a job that requires me to pressure wash the old built-up paint off of concrete light pole bases, concrete curbing, and concrete handicap ramps. I only need to remove the material that is flaking and peeling so that I can repaint with better results. My question is what are the recommended requirements for a pressure washer to accomplish this job(GPM,HP,Direct drive, Belt drive, Degree of nozzle)? There are 54 large light poles, 13(100SF) handicap ramps, and approximately 8000LF of curb. Also does anyone have an estimated LF per hour on the curbing that I can use as a guide. Thanks in Advance, Tat007

If you just want to remove the peeling paint, then almost any pressure washer will work. Why don't you rent one first to see how well it works? Go for the most GPM if you have a choice, more gallons per minute means more area covered per minute. I have a little 13 HP direct drive that does 4000psi and 4 gpm that cost $1100, and a hot water 16 hp 3500 4 gpm trailer mount that cost $6000. They both do about as well at knocking off the loose paint.
