You may have noticed these forums require you to register to post. Your registration information is only as "public" as you want it to be. If you want you can use a different "handle" for your posts besides the name you register under, you can also choose to make your e-mail public or keep it private, enter your web site if you want, and even enter any other contact info you want people to have available like ICQ, AIM, or other "messengers". Registration is very quick & easy. When you register all that happens is you will receive an e-mail right away with a link in it to complete your registration (it also acknowledges you understand the posting etiquette and forum rules) and as soon as you click it you will be registered and brought back here logged in and ready to post. Of course "guest" visitors may still read all the posts anytime but all the advanced features are only available to registered users. This new policy still protects your privacy to whatever degree you want and allows anyone to register since you complete the process yourself (no one "approves" your registration but you) but is very standard in forums today by having you agree that you know you are expected to "play by the rules & be nice" to the other kids on the playground

That was a test forum and only a test warning, had it been a real warning your clock would have been cleaned, not your slate... Wait until we decide whether or not to enable Karma (and I'm serious there is a feature called that and you can imagine what it can do, it is silently already running in the background)...and that's a whole other thing from warnings
I urge everyone to complete your personal profile. You have probably already noticed the "neat" birthday feature on the system (as Ken became even more ancient) even though we don't believe Nino will really be 4 on his next birthday. There is another "goodie" I am thinking about adding which will probably need your address. Again, like e-mails when contained in your profile it's impossible for the spam "robots" to find your information so it's safe from everyone but other registered users. (That's why we encourage putting your e-mail address in your profile...the "robots" can find them easily in a post.) And "guests" cannot view profiles or other "member goodies" either. There are many of these "goodies" available for this software and I have actually had fun with some of them (the ones that didn't drive me crazy--er) and for some of them the more information you volunteer will determine how well they work. Happy posting, I look forward to being able to do a little more "showing off" with these forums when I get time between all the web sites I am currently working on for my customers..
