Does anyone have any suggestions for what type of scarifier I should buy? I have been getting more and more requests for eradication and I have rented up until now, but am considering buying. Please keep in mind, I am a one person operation, so I have to be able to handle the thing by myself.

Call these guys first www.smithmfg.com . They have small units that cost around $1500.00 with carbide cutter. Also try SASE company. I have their small unit and beat the (expletive) out of it and it still works fine. The small units one person can lift on and off a truck. Jim

I have a Smith Mfg. SPS 10 and love it. However it's too heavy for one person to lift from a truck. They also have an SPS 8 smaller model. They have called me several times in the year since I purchased it just to check up and see how it was working for us. Also walked me through a problem I was having on a job site one day which helped me to complete the job that day and saved me a long trip back the next day. Excellent follow up after the sale. I recommend them highly!
We buy our cutters from KutRite and we have two Edco CPM-8 Machines along with one Bartell 8" machine. The Edcos with their 9hp motors are wonderful machines for heavy duty work or a lot of line removal. The Bartell has a 5.5hp motor and is to light for a lot of removal but is easily loaded / unloaded on a truck by one person
Great. Thanks for the info. Sorry to bring up the subject of scarifiers again, to the veterans. When I put it a search for past posts, I entered the plural instead of the singular "scarifier" and not much popped up. Thanks to Sean for enlightening me!!:)
