So after 2 jobs using my barn find speeflo 6000, the thing is running great. I was looking on line and noticed a picture of one, I also noticed that mine does not have two hoses coming out of the paint bucket. I am attaching a screen grab of a speeflo with the two hoses. The arrows are pointing at the hose I DO NOT have. But like I said it is running fine. Both guns work. I will take a shot of mine later. Is it possible that the guy who had it before me converted it somehow. I know its hard to tell with out seeing mine but it looks just like this one only way dirtier. pat

That does look like a return hose. It's nice to have but it's not critical, you can use the gun to relieve pressure from the system. If you look at the housing where the filter goes, you most likely will see some sort of valve that has no hose attached to it. I would not advise opening that valve if the machine is under pressure . That's where the hose is going to attach to the machine.
good advice. I will look and see if I notice any sort of valve that is not attached to a hose. Maybe the valve is so coated over with paint I cant even see it. My graco has two hoses, what does the return hose do anyway? The speeflo is running fine with out it.

The return hose returns paint to the bucket. It's used when priming and as a back flow if the pump should over pressurize and for cycling the paint when it's cold and cycling thinner when cleaning. You can do most of that with just the gun. It's also good for getting paint on your shoes. Never sit on an open can without checking for the lid first.

Hi Pat That missing hose is called the "Bleed Hose" and has a metal tube and diffuser on the end that goes into the bucket. It connects to a bleed valve on the side of your filter housing. If the valve & hose is missing..probably the bleed valve went bad and the previous owner removed it & plugged the port in the filter housing. Last I checked, a new bleed valve assembly was mighty pricey (stainless + 4000psi rated) I see there's some on FleaBay here (not me) http://www.ebay.com/itm/944030-Prime-Switch-Valve-Titan-S… B

That sounds ominously like you speak from personal experience... Definitly good advice though Personally, never had one with a diffuser pop out (yet..knock on wood) but I can see it happening if that bleed line was a plain hose end.. 2000psi would shoot that hose out of the bucket like a rocket
