I'm jealous. With size 15 EE feet I can't remember ever buying a shoe on sale. I have to look high and low just to pay too much for something that fits.

Recently I bought some Spira shoes with springs in the soles because of my back-but these things are amazing. I wish they had had them when I was walking 20 miles a day. ( http://www.spirafootwear.com ) I can imagine they would be a bit hot because they have heavy solid leather uppers, they also make mesh top shoes but they are supposed to be for running, however I bet they would work fine for walking (I intend to order some as summer approaches and their web site looks like they are making "model" changes for the new year.) These things are built like shoes used to be and the springs are great, no impact on the heel at all. They are very stable also -holding your foot in a proper position (my foot tends to "roll out" in most shoes-not these at all) I thought they were a gimmick and I don't know about you healthy guys but for me & my back I can walk twice or 3 times as far as I could with regular (and I mean high-end) regular walking shoes. (And they say they actually get better with use as the springs "wear in" to your weight-we'll see) They are not cheap, mine were about $130 but worth every penny and they have a different "patented" spring so they don't make you 2" taller like most "spring" shoes because the springs are so much more efficient for the height... just my 2 cents and most styles come in very large and super-widths for those of you with really big fee like the triple E--they don't have narrow, regular width is the smallest but they do go to smaller foot sizes.

I don't know how line drivers relate to shoes but I am fairly new to striping. I striped less than 75 lines before I ordered my line driver. Cost is a concern but I would suggest to anyone that as soon as you can make the payments, get a line driver and on the very first job you will be thankful and realize the convenience and time savings.

If cost is a concern remember the original inventors- LazyLiner ; is substantially cheaper than regular price on Line Drivers. Although I have seen some "new in box" Line Drivers cheaper than usual in ads & such where I guess people overstocked or something and are trying to move them. (check who you are buying from of course)

You can't afford to be without one but don't realize it. You are losing big money everyday you don't have one.

I just found an AWESOME work boot this last summer. They are a new line of CAT boots (made by Wolverine) Anyways look for the boot with " i " technology. They are designed to give the stability of a work book, yet feel like a nice athletic show. they even offer a 30 day like it or leave it guarantee. I got the "Endure" model at Sears for $80... Best shoe ever... easily replaces Merrels, New Balance etc...

The Merrells are working nicely, BUT I am considering a LL or LD. Any input on which one is the better value? I have a similar thread in the "for sale" area, Sorry.. But I am looking for some input before I purchase one. Thanks everyone!

The electric start on the LL is a great plus. Our machine going on four years, been worked hard put away wet not well serviced and nary a problem. The one thing Graco is offering is the clutch on the pump of their bigger machine that might be nice. They can be tempermental to start in cold weather when the pump oil is cold. We found on our LL to just advance the throttle no more than a half inch, choke and use the rope starter when it's cold and will usually start right up. Mine simply won't start with electric starter when cold. Once warmed up it (starter)works fine. Also Dave at Fine Line is great to deal with. We have done some indoor garages in mid winter ( around 0 degree at night) and placed a electric heat pad over the pump the night before then started right up.

here is a link to a you tube video of our striping inside a warehouse with Ennis Ultra Sheen( High Gloss Traffic paint-costs about 80 bucks per 5). I shot this video 2 hrs after we striped it. You can see that there is absolutely no tracking. I did have trouble with the paint though, it was 60 degree today and the paint was clogging me up....even after thinning it a bit. I have shot this paint before in temps around 70-80 degrees and it shot awsome....thats the only con about this paint, is that it has to be done in temps above 70 for it to shoot good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JPVZDOdDN4

Nice work How much did you have to thin the paint & what tip did you shoot it through?

Good info. How long did it take to be able to cross it with a machine?

i was able to cross thorugh it in about 30 minutes, and this was shot with a 321. I had to use a big tip becasue paint just was to thick. I ended up using about quarter gallon of xylene to be able to thin enough to spray.
