Don't ask me...I don't know why it broke with a recent upgrade in both this forum software and PHP on my servers (the programming language these forums use). But one reason we are not a "bargain basement" host is not just all the "big company" features we offer but also the fact I pay highly qualified server administrators who are "on call" all the time for such problems. If you noticed the forum go down for about 1 1/2 minutes last evening it was them fixing whatever the problem was. That was after it took them about 4 hours to find whatever it was. So spell check is now working again! Many hosts don't do these type things but I feel it's important. All the "normal" diagnostics available to me showed everything should be working, but it became obvious it wasn't, so it took the experts to figure out why and fix it. The same reason I pay to have our servers monitored for all functions at 5 minute intervals 24/7/365 by an independent firm. If anything does go wrong they notify me and the server administrators so the problems can be quickly resolved. This one wasn't a server problem, just some little bug in the software on the server (it takes 2 programs on the server properly interacting with this software just to make spell checking work, there is a lot more going on there than you would think) Next time somebody please make a post or send me a PM as soon as you think you notice such a problem, this had evidently been broken for a couple of weeks since the other upgrade s.

Just a note: Like the last upgrade a recent one broke the spell check for a while. Now I know the cause. My server admin told me the particular program this forum uses to spell check doesn't "play well" with upgrades to some of the other server operating software so next time I install a patch or upgrade to the other software to let him know so he could fix it as soon as possible. Sorry for the recent inconvenience of a day or so before I noticed it was broken, but he described the fix as "server voodoo" and that's what I pay him for knowing
