Stupid people that move your cones!

I have purposely started bringing traffic cones that have been used on sealer jobs to help block entrances. Strategically place them 2nd from the ends. Those of you that sealcoat know that the cones get a little overspray each time and eventually are a worthless mess. You guys need to see the reactions of people that grab the cones with sealer on them. One idiot asked what was the best way to get the "black stuff" off his hands. One of my guys answered "If you would'nt have moved the freakin' (expletive) cones you would'nt have that problem to begin with". Idiot boy cussed him a bit but it was worth the laugh. I am making barricades to tie down between entrances. I am so tired of stupid people. The last two apartment complexes we did were definitely where some of the world's dumbest s.o.b.'s lived at. I vowed that they woudl be the last apartments we would stripe....but I can't stand leaving money on the table. With all the people on this forum, I'm sure we could write a book about dumb asses we have encountered. Some people should not procreate. Domingo
we built a bead dispensing unit using a air powered unit one time. Like I said one time. Worked great on lines just sprayed out twice as many beads as needed. This sounds funny but works. Take a push fertilizer spreader, put a plastic lid on bottom of spreader and punch small holes in it have a helper push it on line after you paint line after you get it adjusted it works.. Told you it was funny...
We use the plastic Graco system on our HS200, the newer metal version looks easier to use we looked at a Titan machine , the Graco bead system could be adapted. Its sure is handy doing center lines. As a value added service we upsell our customers by offering to glass bead all traffic markings ie: arrows stop bars etc for higher refectivity at night and an extra wearing surface, we have good success with this offer and we add 10% to the job. For a bead dispenser we use a new gallon paint pail and drill a bunch of small holes in the buttom of the can, when we pickup the can with the handle we have a nice bead dispenser. To reload we have a round hole cut in the lid so we don't have to remove the lid each time we refill. we use half a water bottle as a funnel, when the can is filled we just cover the hole with duct tape, while filling we set the can on an old lid from the paint can and flip it over into the bead can when full, works great nice even coverage
