thermo die setting ?

I have a thermo question, I have linemaster dies that are Identical as trantex. when setting up the die do you use a gauge of some type or do you just eyeball the setting on the tailiner for your material thickness. thanks -m-

On our trantex, the shoe where it mounts has a mark on it. Slide it up to the mark and tighten
