Same here with diagonals. To comply with all DOT's and muni codes, the ones to the left of the "C9 hermie" shown above are backwards unless the traffic is one-way from left to right.

I have a GC who insists the Hermie must face the direction needed to travel to get to the ramp/door. He thinks of it as a directional arrow. I feel like you guys, Hermie should face the same direction as the sign.

I think it depends on your location. I just finished a Super Wally here in Vancouver (largest in Canada I think) and the blue prints had no special spec. I did the standard white on blue and everyone was happy at final inspection.

WCoaster; The one here requires the paint to last at least a year or the contractor has to repaint for nothing. With as much sand as has been applied the Hermie's were gone in less then 8 months. Now there is a legal battle over the contract. Watch your back with WW

I am sub to a sub to the general so I think it will be ok but I trust my work anyway and I will fix any deficiencies. I did some extra work on a penitentiary last week and they are in a battle with their general over the quality of the line painting. It looks like the contractor may not come through so the PM is asking me if I am available to fix what should have been warranty work. Thanks for the advice.

In our climate very few jobs make it a year without some wear. High traffic areas like Wally world will show considerable wear after the winter. Even thermos on xwalks and stop bars show wear after all the sand and snow plows. The Wally's I have worked on want two heavy coats and that promotes peeling. No way would I unconditionally warranty a Wally world for a year.

WC always charge at least double to fix someone else's screw up.

in cali all of your work has to be warrantied for 1 year. those big hermies were at a kohls department store. we had to warranty a college for 5 years last month. the only two elements we have here is sunshine and traffic. I cant remember the last time it rained, thats why next year I am expanding into the water truck business

How do you warranty for 5 years? Just charge 5 times as much and expect to be repainting at every year? We do not get a lot of snow here. maybe for a week or two and we do not sand just plow it in the corner and wait for the rain. Still, a busy lot is going to need painting yearly, surely every second year. The larger stores here do not let their lines fade to nothing before repainting. We are definitely off topic now though.
