"van" stencil

The ADA does not specify any pavement markings. Check with your local inspector or do it the way the plans show. The most common VAN stencil is 24" letters. When we do a Wal-Mart, we tell the general contractor that the local inspector likes a 39" handicap symbol and no VAN stencil. They usually say go ahead and do it like the local requirement.
Just an update. I am not ignorant when it comes to electronics (not too much anyhow) but when I measured the output of the Graco voltage regulator with a volt meter, it measured zero - zilch for any output. However, upon replacing the light bulb in the light, I thought what the heck, I'll try to run the light even thought I knew 100% that the regulator was bad. I was wrong!! The light works but I can still not measure any output on the DC setting of my digital volt meter. Hmmmmm this is puzzling to say the least. Now I just have spares of the other bridge rectifiers / regulators I bought on e-bay. Now that I have a light on the LineDriver, I can't wait to set one up on the LazyLiner so we can use both for night work when the parking lot lights go out after the manager(s) promise to over-ride the timers. By the way, NAPA had a stack of replacement bulbs on the rack - - even cheaper than replacing the whole fixture with a tractor utility light from Tractor supply.
The reason you cant measure any voltage on your DC volt meter is because the regulator is putting out AC and the light will work on eather. The rectifiers convert the ac to dc and all Hondas have an AC output and only some have both. If you install the ones u got off of e-bay you would have both outputs. (both coils operating)
I could troubleshoot it and repair/replace the bad componits if I had the complete unit and a schematic. only thing is it may cost more then a new unit. If all you need is the light then run it off the AC circit as you have it set up now. The only requirement for DC would be for charging a battery or running some other electronics. By the way does the light flicker when the motor is at idle?
Rich, right, Back in the day when I was into that kind of stuff that would have been all that was needed, but today that is not all if it is been used for todays delicate electronics. you also need to include a filter circit, voltage stabilizer, full wave rectifier verses a 1/2 wave. serge protection, and a clipping circit to cut off the output if the voltage is to low.
Robert, I was talking to another striper in the area and he is 1 of 2 striping companies working at a new Super Wal-Mart Elkton, Maryland. He showed me the 7 foot handicap stencil he bought cause that was on the drawings!! This was a huge stencil, two part I think. He never aked if he could use the smaller one. Mike In-Line
My suggestions would be... dont go too fast. I've found after a short while you can paint faster that even a 2308 tip (titan) can handle...even with this big tip you still could be putting the paint down too thin if you are painting too fast (if you get more than 85 to 95 lines per can your going too fast). Also don't turn too sharp or you can jackknife and flip it. In addition, keep double the amount of gas on hand. And finally start booking more jobs/day as you will be WAY more efficient than before. Just my two bits.
Adjust the striper's handlebars to the highest position for more knee clearance. I run the gun a little out further than when walking so I do not run over the line when backing up. Get confortable with it while using the tip sizes you currently use, and then upsize ASAP to get a bigger jump in production. Adjust the dual pedals to comfortable positions for both feet. You are in the big league!
If you have a newer graco with the read out. Try different tips and watch the mils it is putting down. Even an old 23 tip will spray like a 27 tip. Watch your mils and paint as you feel comfortable painting. Good luck, get ready for that belly to start growing.
