This wal-mart Im doing has 7 foot handicap stencils, anyone ever painted a 7 ft handicap man before, seems like overkill,as well as 8 ft STOP and 8 ft. YIELD

It's so the blind can see it. A lot like the brail at the drive thru ATM.

The 7 ft. handicap is an old Wal Mart spec. I have sold 39" stencils all over the country to contractors doing Wal Mart. Often the 7' is on the prints, but it can be changed to the new 39" (one meter) international standard size.

Well,Im sure you have come across those G.C.'s who would go by the plans even if the handicap stencil was bigger than the parking space.Personally,I think the 8 foot STOP's and YIELD's are overkill also, for a parking lot anyway. If people dont stop for the stopbar or the 30 inch stop sign,I guess letters as long as your car are the next step.

We thought it was nuts too, but the contractor insisted on sticking with the specs, so now we use the large stencil at allot of industrail sites and with other safety conscience folks around school zones and airports. They think its a great idea,we look like heros , and I've paid for the stencil over and over. Give them what they want, keep the customer thats our motto. Your competitors likely can't redo your large stencil so the customer calls you back its a win win.
