I know there were plenty topics on the old forum about painting warehouse floors, but nothing here yet. So my question is what is the best paint to put down on the floors? What preparations should you take with the paint, any special mixtures?, haven't seen the floor yet so not sure I'm not sure if a scarifier is needed to help the paint adhere. If some chance it is a re-stripe would you still recommend purchasing a sports-taper? Double, triple the price per foot? It's a furniture warehouse so odds are there might be forklift traffic running over the paint, so I want to make sure it will last! And finally, for those that have done it, what are some tips to avoid the headaches, etc?? If you mess up, what can be done real quick to prevent any permanent mistakes??? Sorry for all the questions, hopefully we can get a detailed response so others can refer to the post when their time comes to paint some warehouses!!! Sean Paramount Asphalt

Any good traffic marking paint will work OK if it's put on a properly prepared surface. If it's new concrete, properly cured, a good sealer applied first will strengthen the surface and help the paint stick. if it's old and dirty then you have to get to clean concrete first. For long lasting results, you can use epoxy or urethanes. If they want it to be perfect, and are willing to pay, you can tape the lines first with a Sport Taper. http://www.parkinglotplanet.com/sport_taper.htm
Epoxy is a type of paint. Like the urethane I have used, it's a 2 component that will dry hard inside your machine if you don't get it out within it's "pot life". Read and follow the directions. You can ask at your paint store what they recommend for concrete floors. I have used SW Corthane and it works well in dirty, high traffic situations.
