Ill add my vote that www.weatherunderground.com is one of the best and most accurate weather sites around. We live by the weather all year, and this is the best. For you that are more into the weather than normal, look for a link under your areas forcast that is listed as "scientific discussion" This is a discussion of current weather for your area provided by the NWS. I use this discussion almost daily in the winter to help use plan our snow plowing operations.
True that D. Also don't forget you can get animated radars delivered to your cellphone just about anywhere you are. It costs me about $3.00/month for the service and gives me a regional, state and local view. Good for sealcoaters or people who shoot latex paints, particularly at night. You can also hook up your laptop to your cellfone and get high definition radars delivered to your laptop.
A new thing to come out is the EV-DO networks, right now I think only Sprint and Verizon have them, but they offer mobile highspeed, and crazy fast speeds. I use my Sprint card in my laptop and use it to watch the weather out in the field if we are doing something that is weather critical.
The very first job I did as my own company was over 850 spaces layout on a Target Greatland. Had to be latex. Rained for 10 days of course with heavy pressure to get it done. I was working at night with no laptop, cell phone weather gadgets etc. HIGH PUCKER FACTOR. VERY HIGH. It took years off my life.
we use intellicast / accuweather / and local tv doppler. best predicter of weather i've ever seen is driving by a cow pasture - if they are all standing up - clear weather / all laying down - it's definitely going to rain, to get chance of percipitation figure out proportionately. bovine weather forecasters - they are tasty to boot!
