I heard its gotta be 32'' leading out to roads that are 45mph or less. Putting in one for a church, and it calls for VDOT spec size (no clue what the spec size is) but my sign lady told me it should be 32". Anyone have any idea?? Thanks, oh and is $6 a fair price for 6" RESERVED stenciling? Heh got about 163 to do and just would like to make sure! hadda throw that question in there sorry Sean Paramount Asphalt

In New Jersey, any stop sign that leads to a main road must be 36 inches, a stop sign in a residential private comm could get away with a 24 inch stop sign. I would check with the local Traffic Officer at the Police department. Jim

Or check the MUTCD, Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for your state. Search your state DOT site or call local zoning and planning offices.

$6.00 each seems a little cheep, here I get $25.00 each and I have seen a lot higher. As for the sign size, Call the department that is in charge or the road you will be putting it at and they will be glad to set you right as far as size and how high along with the setback for your application
